Artist:
Completion Date: 1950

I chose this painting over others because it expresses many feelings and abstract shapes. There is a light source coming from the top right corner and the darkest shadows are in the bottom left corner. This reminds me of our paintings and the light sources it has. The shapes have multiple shades of each color; light to dark.

The colors represent the mood of my painting because the blue represents intuitions and deep complexion. The red represents the action or courageous feelings. the purple represents a magic or mystery which my paintig has most of.  The lines of the picture are straight, but arranged in a way that makes the picture interesting, this represent my painting because my painting is straight forward, but still has an interesting element to it.

-Rubin

This abstract painting is used to represent the feeling of being relaxed, calm, collected, and layed back by using the different shades of blue. The painting starts off very dark at the bottom and gets brighter as it gets higher, almost resembling blue fire.

My mood today is joy. The picture and lines in the picture represents joy  because there is a mixture of light yellows and soft lines.

Gypsy Vanner in Blue - Marcia Baldwin

Madison Koval

This piece of artwork was painted by Marcia Baldwin. She uses different shades of blue and techniques to make textures in the horse's mane and tail. Blue gives off a joyful, calm feel. Lines are flowing and not rigid

I chose this image because my emotion smoothly and calmly change day to day. My emotion right now is in the middle of this picture, orange shows my interest and yellow shows my joy. I'm interested in starting something new, and I'm joyful to have had much fun at my first game.
This abstract painting uses red to show passion/rage and blue to show sadness/grief. The lines of the tree are very sharp and clean cut.
This reflects my mood today because I am angry and sad we lost our first lacrosse game but it can only get better from there.

Assignment three- color and mood

Colors relate to moods.  Example "I feel blue" means I feel sad.  We just learned about Picasso's blue and rose periods.
Assignment: Find an abstract painting that relates to your mood today and then give an explanation why the colors and lines represent your mood today.
Use this chart to help decipher the color mood relationship.  Note the darker the color (shade0 intensifies the mood and the lighter color ( tint) is a more subtle mood.

The artist uses extremely detailed dark and light shading to create a realistic picture of a Bengal Tiger, which has a very difficult face to draw do to its many shades and designs of its face. The artist also created the sense of the tiger being 3D by highlighting and darkening specific areas us the chin, ears, whiskers, and neck.
